Talkin' with a friend of mine just the other day And he said Man we're gettin' old, I said Hey hey hey hey hey tell me something I don't know I feel it in my bones every day So tell me where we go from here 'cause I really want to know Direction don't seem very clear oh no no no no no But does it really matter which way you choose? You're goin' anyway But if you wake up in the morning, stretch your arms out and don't hit wood Say this must be my lucky day Summon up a little strength, get out of bed and go outside We're used to having so much time, now it seems to go so fast Summer's here now summer's gone, is that another year going past? Well say what's up with that? I could have sworn that this was gonna last But if you wake up in the morning on the green side of the grass Say this must be my lucky day Fumble in your pocket Get out your keys, go take a ride There's so much you've got to do, now you've got so little time So many words you need to say You're waiting for that perfect rhyme Well before it goes all quiet, take your kite and fly it, and watch it climb But if you wake up in the morning, stretch your arms out and don't hit wood Say this must be my lucky day Summon up a little strength, get out of bed and go outside Yeah if you wake up in the morning, stretch your arms out and don't hit wood Say this must be my lucky day Summon up a little strength, get out of bed and go outside Summon up a little strength, get get out of bed and go outside get out of bed and go outside

Do you know where you are? Oh you think you lost your way Like you get into your car and drive with your Ray Charles glasses on at night You ain't getting nowhere so you're feeling all alone and you don't know what to do and you don't believe that anybody's understanding you How could anybody know? How could anybody see? These things that are happening could only happen to me But this ain't the first time Ain't no first times anymore No this ain't the first time , it's all been done before Now you say you lost your love And your story ain't pretty but you know there's eight million more like yours in the big city So you see you're not alone with those old walking blues 'Cause those eight million other souls have already been in your shoes So this ain't the first time Ain't no first times anymore No this ain't the first time , it's all been done before And there's nothing new here There's nothing new under this sun there's nothing new here This race has already been run This ain't the first time Ain't no first times anymore No this ain't the first time , it's all been done This ain't the first time Ain't no first times anymore No this ain't the first time , it's all been done This ain't the first time Ain't no first times anymore No this ain't the first time , it's all been done before And there's nothing new here And there's nothing new here there's nothing new here

Without a word the sun goes down 'til the last traces of it's light can't be found For so long I've been waiting for you But you're gone I don't want to believe that it's true Well I look at the clock, the second hand going 'round Sweeping by without making a sound And as it drags the other hands along I tell myself that I must have done something wrong Well I sit here and I stare at the wall, and I'm Waiting for your knock on my door, but I Can't stand the silence that falls on me when It's you that I've been waiting for oh Well didn't you tell me that you'd always be mine or were those just the words I thought I heard at the time? I like to think i can believe what you said but don't tell me that it's all been in my head Well I sit here and I stare at the wall, and I'm Waiting for your knock on my door, but I Can't stand the silence that falls on me when It's you that I've been waiting for oh Lying here losing my mind imagining the phone is ringing and baby did what we had mean anything, anything? Well I sit here and I stare at the wall, and I'm Waiting for your knock on my door, but I Can't stand the silence that falls on me when It's you that I've been waiting for oh

well hey I know that you've been waiting for the moment to be right Wonderin' if it really matters, and if it's worth the fight tell yourself that it's not smart to make a quick decision But I can tell your story is in need of some revision Your dreams are out there waiting Your dreams are out there waiting Your dreams are out there waiting for you to make the first move and then they'll come to you You're not altogether sure if you believe in yourself 'Cause underneath that air of cool you're crying out for help But you've got to take a chance You've got to be strong 'Cause years you fill up with regret are liable to feel so long and Your dreams are out there waiting Your dreams are out there waiting Your dreams are out there waiting for you to show you really want them Well don't you leave them out there Waiting, wondering what ever happened to you? well only you can make things happen but it's up to you Your dreams are out there waiting Your dreams are out there waiting Your dreams are out there waiting for you to make the first move for you to make the first move for you to make the first move and then they'll come to you and then they'll come to you and then they'll come to you

Girl I don't know how you do it How you do the things you do But like a flame I'm drawn right to it Why i haven't got a clue And clouds of doubt that would surround me in swirling shades of cobalt blue dissipate when you're around me and your sunlight blows on through And I see in your eyes all that I need There in your eyes all that I need And I'm helpless to resist you now This I'm happy to concede Satisfied just to follow you Follow anywhere you lead And I see in your eyes all that I need There in your eyes all that I need Yes I see in your eyes Kaleidescopes and dancing colors all around midnight universe full of stars But I can't take my eyes off you and you see into my heart Questions disappear without a trace Fascination, deja vu You cast my mind off to some distant place Where I just dream of you And I see in your eyes all that I need There in your eyes all that I need Yes I see in your eyes all that I need There in your eyes all that I need

Something in my memory from a long long time ago Said to me that there would be so much more to know Ah but now you're so young And like the fool I've always been to this I paid no heed Swore that I knew everything I would ever need Oh man, you can be so dumb So I went along my way with thoughts I couldn't share never knowing everybody else had done that and been there Done that, and been there You think you can make it on your own but you're mistaken Still all you'll ever need to know is right there for the taking oh yeah I look back now it seems so clear Oh I guess I'm none the worse But wisdom that comes with the years is a blessing and a curse 'Cause it don't get any easier when you can't take good advice And you're left with just your stupid pride and your own device You think you can make it on your own but you're mistaken, so mistaken Still all you'll ever need to know is right there for the taking You think you can make it on your own but you're mistaken, so mistaken Still all you'll ever need to know is right there for the taking oh it's right there for the taking oh it's right there for the taking oh yeah

Seems like only yesterday that everything was right And nothing was gonna change and we never questioned why Then I turned around and you were gone Well life slips away right out of our hands Love grows within two hearts, joins them together And with such a passionate start that we swear it lives forever Then it withers and dies and love is gone Well love slips away right out of our hands And it’s all so unclear. Don’t it all seem so strange. But then longer things stay the same the more they must change God only knows how we’ve tried to understand but there’s not much that we can do. It’s out of our hands. We stand here so young and strong with time on our side, Wishing our lives away ‘til the spirit has died We had our chances and now they’re gone Well time slips away right out of our hands
